Billy Casper Golf Raises Funds

The golf course management company, Billy Casper Golf, recently conducted various events at four of its facilities on the East Coast to raise disaster-relief funds. The amount raised by these Billy Casper Golf clubs is $15,180.

Deer Run Golf Golf Club, Berlin, Maryland: Raised $1,500 by donating a portion of each full-price greens fee in the month of October to the Greater Ocean City Disaster Relief Fund. Also, three teams of golfers from the club paid $75 each to participate in the Ocean City Golf Getaway "Golf Course Challenge." All entry fees from the event went to disaster relief funds. Deer Run generated $900 through its entry fees, so $2,400 was the total the club contributed.

Cranbury Golf Club, West Windsor, New Jersey: Raised $6,280 for the Todd M.Beamer Foundation ( through its annual Fall Finale event,this year on November 3. Twenty-five dollars from each member's participation fee went to the foundation, the club raised additional funds through tee sponsors and 50-50 drawings, and the club owner (Billy Casper Golf) matched each member's $25 donation. Beamer was a resident of Cranbury, New Jersey. He was one of the passengers on the airliner that crashed in the Pennsylvania countryside after he and others rushed the hijackers when they figured out what was happening.

Cobblestone Creek Country Club, Victor, New York: Members donated funds to purchase a flagpole and memorial plaque to be constructed at the club in memory of the heroes and victims of Sept. 11. The club matched all member donations. All funds collected above what the materials and labor cost go to a relief fund. Itís estimated that $1,500 will be donated after construction is complete.

High Bridge Hills Golf Club, High Bridge, New Jersey: Donated a portion of each greens fee for the past six weeks for a total of $5,000 toward disaster relief.
