Breast Cancer Alliance to Hold Coed Golf Outing

On Monday, June 17, the Breast Cancer Alliance (BCA) will hold a coed golf outing at Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, N.Y. The event will be co-hosted by Dr. Bill Evans and Scott Shannon.

Dr. Evans is a 12-time Emmy Award winner, New York Times best-selling author and senior meteorologist for Channel 7 Eyewitness News. For the last 20 years, Shannon has co-hosted "Scott & Todd in the Morning Show" with partner, Todd Pettingill, on 95.5 WPLJ and is host of the nationally syndicated "True Oldies Channel."

"Many of us have a family member or know of someone who has been touched by breast cancer. Scott and I, through your help, wish to find a cure and, in the meantime, help those and their families who are in need," Dr. Evans said. "Join us for a day that we can celebrate the survivors and remember the ones we lost, like my beloved mother, Nadine."

Registration begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 12:30. The cocktail reception will open at 5 p.m. Awards and prizes will be provided by the two co-hosts at 6 p.m. for first and second net, first and second gross, longest drive and closest to the pin.

Tickets are $450 per single (with pairing by pro), $850 per twosome (with pairing by pro) and $1,600 per foursome. Sponsorships are also available; tickets for the cocktail hour are $150 per person.

The tournament format is best two best-balls per foursome. Attendees will receive a light breakfast, lunch and a cocktail hour along with an awards and silent auction, courtesy of Eagel Sports. The auction will feature signed memorabilia from celebrities like area sports stars such as Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Eli Manning, Joe Namath and Henrik Lundqvist.
