Clubhouse at Three Crowns Ahead of Schedule

OB Sports Golf Management has announced that construction of the 12,000-square-foot clubhouse at Three Crowns Golf Club in Casper, Wyo., is ahead of schedule. In fact, according to general manager David Raper, "the clubhouse, including dining facilities, is scheduled to be completed on September 1st, which is ahead of our original date."

The clubhouse design fits into the vision for Three Crowns. Overlooking the ninth and 18th greens at the Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed course, the clubhouse will contain a 1,000-square-foot pro shop and the Filling Station restaurant. Also available is banquet space for large groups.

"The finishing touches are being put in place now,” said OB Sports’ vice president, C.A. Roberts. “The furniture has been chosen and the classic motif of the project is really coming together. We are looking forward to serving several different types of groups out of one special facility."

Other on-course details are on track for the dedication ceremonies on June 23rd. "We are very pleased with the momentum that is carrying us closer to the opening date," said Raper. These details include filling the bunkers with sand, placing the hole markers, and printing scorecards and course guides.

The hole-markers are miniature oil derricks symbolic of the course’s site. The property where Three Crowns is located was a Standard Oil refinery. Eventually owned by Amoco Oil, the refinery was at one time the world's leading producer of gasoline.

"The history here is very important," says C.A. Roberts, "and something of which everyone can be very proud. Our goal is to bring the past and present together wrapped around a truly spectacular golf course."

Three Crowns is an integral part of the property’s final remediation. Half of the eight water features on the course are part of a filtration system that cleans groundwater as it moves through the course. "It really is an amazing story," said Roberts.
