Country Club of South Carolina Now Open to Public

The Country Club of South Carolina in Florence has opened its doors for outside players. The facility had been a private club since opening in 1969.

Outside play is available Tuesday thru Sunday with a $45 greens fee that includes a golf cart and range balls. The course will be open seven days a week beginning on March 9, the start of daylight saving time.

"We are very pleased to make this special golf course available to the people of Florence County and the surrounding area," said general manager Fred Burnett. "This will give us the opportunity to expose golfers to the Southern charm of the club and the extensive recreational amenities and dining opportunities available to club members."

The Country Club of South Carolina's course is the centerpiece of a 900-acre residential community located two miles from Interstate 95 and less than 15 minutes from downtown Florence.

The 7,150-yard layout was designed by Ellis Maples, a protégé of Donald Ross. In addition to golf, amenities include a 30,000-square-foot clubhouse, multiple dining venues, a fitness center, junior Olympic pool, lighted tennis complex and multi-station playground.

The Country Club of South Carolina is managed by Atlanta-based Mosaic Clubs & Resorts. For more information or to a tee time, call 843/669-1838 or visit
