Falmouth Country Club Enhancements

Falmouth Country Club and Billy Casper Golf (BCG) have completed a capital enhancement program to the course and facilities on Massachusetts’ Cape Cod. Substantial resources were committed to upgrade course conditions, renovate the pro shop and add new amenities.

“People are raving about the golf course conditions and the cosmetics and amenity upgrades,” said Peter Barbuto, Falmouth’s director of golf. “Everyone at Falmouth – our superintendent, pro shop staff, greens crew – worked hard during the off-season and this spring to ensure the great start to the season.”

The facility is a daily-fee golf course owned by the town of Falmouth. The 47-year-old club features a 6,665-yard, 18-hole course, and a recently added, regulation-length, nine-hole layout. Falmouth’s layout boasts good conditioning and affordable rates that make it popular with locals and visitors to the Cape. Many flock to see the signature, 516-yard par-5, 10th hole – home to one of the area’s largest osprey nests.

Course work focused mainly on contouring fairways and conditioning the putting surfaces for smoother putts. Falmouth’s bunkers were also spruced up with freshly cut edges. “The course is in the best shape it’s ever been,” said superintendent Bucky Hall. “The maintenance staff is doing a great job implementing a detailed agronomic program.”

In addition to the enhanced course conditions, Falmouth’s newly remodeled pro shop carries a full line of brand name golf apparel and equipment. New carpet, fresh paint, televisions and seating, have also been added. A new 240-square-foot tent accommodates tournaments and events with 20 to 200 people.
