Florida's MetroWest Golf Club Reopens after Renovation

MetroWest Golf Club near Orlando's theme parks and attractions, has reopened for play after a major renovation. Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., and measuring over 7,000 yards, the course underwent a $1.5 million remodel under the direction of Billy Fuller Golf Design of Atlanta.

The MetroWest project involved a resurfacing to TifEagle Bermuda and an enlargement of all 18 greens. Also involved was a renovation to the bunkers that will create better escape opportunities and better angles to the greens.

The tees were also enlarged and resurfaced and the practice area was to include new putting and chipping greens. The facility now has a new fleet of GPS-equipped golf cars.

"Our goal with this exciting course renovation project was to continue to challenge the best players, while using state-of-the-art design techniques to make the course faster and more enjoyable for everyday golfers and players of all levels," said general manager Steve Schaller.

"We are thrilled to officially reopen the course and we are confident it will not only present a challenging test of golf, but one that's highly enjoyable in an aesthetically pleasing environment."
