Fourth Course at Bandon Dunes to Open for Limited Play

Bandon Dunes Golf Resort has announced that its fourth course, Old Macdonald, is now taking reservations for limited "preview play" from April 1 to October 1, 2009.

Designed by Tom Doak and his associate Jim Urbina, Old Macdonald will be open first to past and current resort guests wishing to preview the course on a 10-hole loop for a rate of $110. Only 32 players per day will be allowed on the course.

The full 18-hole course is set to open June 1, 2010. The design and strategies of each hole can be linked to the design attributes by the course's namesake and the "father" of American golf course architecture, Charles Blair Macdonald.

Old Macdonald will augment the three courses at this resort on Oregon's southern Pacific Coast: Bandon Dunes, designed by David McLay Kidd; Pacific Dunes by Tom Doak; and Bandon Trails by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw.
