Golf Tournament to Benefit Pat Tillman Foundation

The inaugural Scott Medlock Invitational, set for November 16-17 in Malibu, Calif., has named the Pat Tillman Foundation as sole beneficiary of the event. The invitational will support the Pat Tillman Foundation's Leadership Though Action™ program and its mission to carry forward Tillman's legacy of compassion, independent thinking, integrity, intrepid action and passion by inspiring young people who are striving to promote positive change in themselves and the world around them.

Proceeds from the event will support the expansion of the Foundation's Leadership Through Action™ program to college campuses across the country.

"Hosting this special event is such an honor for me personally, just knowing all that Pat Tillman represented. He is truly an American hero, in every sense of the word," said Medlock.

The two-day Invitational will begin Sunday, November 16 at 6 p.m. with a music and comedy show at The Canyon Club. The evening's entertainment will feature Robby Krieger of The Doors and various surprise guests, including comedians Mark Eddie and Scott Henry.

The Scott Medlock Invitational Golf Classic will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17 at Malibu Country Club. Participants will enjoy a round of golf and the opportunity to learn more about the Pat Tillman Foundation from some of his close friends and family.

As one of the America's foremost artists, Medlock has painted many of the greatest names in sports, including golf legends Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and LPGA star Natalie Gulbis. He's also done renderings of baseball's Babe Ruth and NFL Hall of Famer Dick Butkus.

Beginning in 1996, Medlock was commissioned to create a series of paintings for the Olympic Games. In 2006 he was the selected as the artist for the United States Ryder Cup American Team and, a year later, was commissioned to capture Masters' champion Zach Johnson. Most recently, Medlock completed his annual cover painting for the Deutsche Bank Championship. Currently on his easel is the cover painting for the 2009 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Medlock has also been a close friend of the Tillman family and is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of Pat Tillman.
