Kinsale Celebrates Grand Opening

On July 15th, Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club in Powell, Ohio, will celebrate its grand opening by hosting a gala event highlighted by the appearance of its architect, Arthur Hills.

Since opening on June 11, the 103-acre golf course – a par-72 track measuring 7,200 yards from the tips – has established itself as one of the premier clubs in the Columbus area. Local media have extolled the playability and conditioning of the course. Paul Spohn, Sports Director for WBNS TV said, "Without a doubt, the best first-year course I have ever played."

Besides the Hills’ layout, Kinsale offers a fitness center, massage therapy, free nursery, lap swim, tennis courts and a playground. "We wanted to design a club that appealed to everyone in the family, not just the golfers," said Kim Vivalo-Michel, President of Triangle Golf and Athletic Clubs.

"One of the most important aspects of The Club is our fitness center,” Vivalo-Michel added. “We believe being physically fit is essential for success in every aspect of life, even on the golf course." To this end Kinsale has professional trainers on staff and offers fitness programs for all ages.

Kinsale’s course involves a considerable amount of strategy, but also offers redemption. "It's a straightforward, strategic golf course with a reward for every good shot and ample room to recover for lesser play," said Hills.

As for his attending the course’s official debut, Hills said, "I am excited to return to Kinsale for this event. I am very fond of this course. By what the media and the local players are telling me, they like it as well. We achieved a balance at Kinsale: beauty and playability with many strategic angles which create challenge for all levels of players. I am proud of the end result.”

Located at 3737 Village Club Drive, Kinsale is currently accepting membership applications and will allow also limited non-member play for the first season. For information on rates, memberships and tee times, call 740/881-6500 or visit
