Mount Snow GC Opens Early With Improved Course

A number of course improvements have been made the last couple of summers at Mount Snow Golf Club, located in the southern Vermont resort village of West Dover. The Geoffrey Cornish-designed 18-hole layout now features rebuilt bunkers, significant drainage improvements, leveled tees and earth work that has improved aesthetics and playability.

Thanks to a mild March and a quick melt-off of the traditionally deep Vermont snow pack, course superintendent Bryan White began finishing up the projects early this spring. With no snow to have to work around, White and his crew had additional time to get work done before golfers teed it up May 4, a very early opening for the mountain course.

"Over the last few years we've put a lot of time and resources into improving so many different aspects of this course and this is the season those improvements are really going to show," says White. "I think golfers are really going enjoy what we've done in an effort to return MSGC to the short list of elite mountain golf courses in the Northeast."

Mount Snow Golf Club stretches 6,943 yards from the tips. The course crosses alpine terrain and features large greens, strategically placed bunkers and sneaky water hazards. Located in the southern Green Mountains of Vermont, Mount Snow is as scenic as it is challenging.

In addition to the course, the facility boasts the Original Golf School, Fairways Restaurant and a full-service pro shop. For more information, visit
