To date, the event has raised a total of $523,000 for "bench to bedside" pediatric cancer research at the Bogart labs at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Registration opens at 9:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast and putting contest, and golf begins at 11:00 a.m. The event includes a complimentary barbeque lunch on the ninth hole, an evening dinner, cocktail party, and silent and live auctions at the Sherwood clubhouse.

Last year's live auction included such lots as a four-night stay at Exclusive Resorts in Cabo San Lucas, a trip for two to Las Vegas with limo service, accommodations and Jersey Boys tickets, Dodgers tickets located in the first row behind home plate, a 45-minute private flight with Captain Richard Pack in his P-51 Mustang World War II fighter aircraft, and a trip to the Napa Valley with accommodations and winery tours.

Sherwood Country club features a 7,052 yard par-72 course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The venue offers views of the Santa Monica Mountains as well as 1,800 mature oak trees, waterfalls, jasmine and roses. The course hosts the annual PGA Tour-sanctioned Chevron World Challenge Tournament, which benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation.

"The Provident Financial Management Golf Classic offers an opportunity to get out of the office and enjoy one of the world's top golf courses," says Ivan Axelrod, COO of Provident Financial Management. "It is also one of the few sporting events where every player leaves a winner with the knowledge they have funded important cancer research which directly saves children's lives."

The Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program conducts leukemia and cancer research for infants, children, and adolescents at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Funds raised enable the foundation to receive more support for its research and care, resulting in $8 to $10 in research grants for every dollar raised. For more information, visit
