Player To Design Second Course At TwinEagles

The Bonita Bay Group of Naples, Florida has tapped multiple Grand Slam winner and the most successful international golfer of all time, Gary Player, to create the second championship golf course at TwinEagles. Player will design the Aerie course within TwinEagles' newest phase, Grand Arbor at TwinEagles.

Work on the course is expected to begin by the end of the year and be open for play in late ’05. It will be designed and built to Audubon International Signature Sanctuary standards – a program that promotes environmental education and conservation. TwinEagles’ original Talon course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II, is also certified by Audubon International as a Signature Sanctuary and received a top award in 2003 from the Council for Sustainable Florida.

With its abundance of natural areas, TwinEagles was named by Golf & Travel Magazine as among the “12 Most Intriguing Golf Communities in America.” The new Player-designed Aerie layout will be woven into the newest phase at TwinEagles, called Grand Arbors. The course will serve as a backdrop for coach, villa and custom single-family homes in the new phase. The 650-acre area will also offer gardens, a swimming pool, and parks connected by walking trails that will wind through the community. Interpretive signs will help residents learn more about native wildlife and their habitat.

Fellow Presidents Cup captains, Player and Nicklaus, have been friends and competitors for decades and now they will be linked forever with their designs at The Club at TwinEagles. For more information about TwinEagles, call 866/352-2121 or visit
