Spartan's Head Coach Leads Junior Golf Clinic at Crystal Mountain

Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll, head coach of Michigan State University's women's golf team, will be leading a special golf clinic at Crystal Mountain on Saturday, June 22, at 3 p.m. as part of Crystal Mountain's Junior Golf Fun Day.

Slobodnik-Stoll has been at the helm of the Spartan golf team for 16 years, taking the Spartans to the NCAA Championship nine times. She has led the team to the NCAA Regionals 15 straight seasons, and has won four Big Ten titles.

The free Golf Clinic is geared for juniors 5 to 12 years old and will kick off an afternoon of fun at Crystal Mountain's Practice and Learning Center. Kids are welcome to bring their own equipment, or golf clubs can be provided.

After the clinic, the attendees will hit balls into a kiddie pool and target nets, and play three holes on the practice range's short course. The Junior Golf Fun Day runs until 5 p.m.

"It's so very important to get kids on the golf course early in life," said Brad Dean, Crystal Mountain's director of golf. "And Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll is really passionate about the game and getting the next generation of great players off to a strong start."

Slobodnik-Stoll will be at Crystal Mountain, along with several of her players from Michigan State University, to participate in the Michigan PGA Women's Open, which starts on Crystal Mountain's Mountain Ridge Course on Monday, June 24.
