The Golf Club at Newcastle

The Golf Club at Newcastle originating with the Coal Creek course in 1997, opened its second 18-hole course, China Creek in July 2001. Both layouts were designed by Robert Cupp, with assistance from PGA Tour star and Seattleite, Fred Couples. The Coal Creek Course ranges from 5153 yards to 7024 yards and plays to a course rating of 73.7 with a slope of 133 from the back tees. China Creek stretches over 6,400 yards from the back tees, with a rating of 71.4 and a slope of 126.

Golfers are treated to unparalleled service at The Golf Club at Newcastle. Attendants greet you when you drive up, clean your clubs, and direct you to the pro shop for check-in. Range balls are provided as part of the green fees. The driving range at this facility is among the Northwest’s best, boasting expansive grass tees, incredible instruction programs, and many other features to ensure golfers get the most of their games.

The courses wind across, up and down a 300-foot-high hill that offers some of the most amazing panoramas in the Seattle area. Spectacular views of downtown Seattle and Bellevue, Lake Washington, Puget Sound, the Cascades, the Olympics and Mt. Rainier are on tap from this remarkable promontory. While playing the all-bentgrass courses, golfers often stop in amazement to take in the views.

After-round activities take place in a stunning 44,000-square-foot English Manor style clubhouse which features The Calcutta Grill Restaurant and Pub, the Wooly Toad Cigar Bar, the Gryphon Golf and Apparel Shop, and substantial meeting and banquet spaces. Outside are viewing decks for casual diners. Also outdoors is a nifty natural-turf, 18-hole putting course that winds around the clubhouse and affords yet more breathtaking scenery. All in all, The Golf Club at Newcastle offers a first-class experience unlike any other golf facility in the Northwest.
