Tinley Park Explores Golf Course Idea

Officials of Tinley Park, Illinois hired Matthews & Nelhiebel to complete a feasibility study for a nine-hole golf course proposed for an 85-acre parcel. For $20,000, the design firm will determine if the community can support the public facility. The firm will also explore design possibilities.

Tinley Park is already home to two public golf courses: the 18-hole Odyssey Golf Course on Ridgeland Avenue and the nine-hole White Mountain Golf Course on 179th Street. If a golf course proves feasible, the project would be developed jointly by Tinley Park and the park district. The village would lease the land from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District for about $1 a year. No homesites are planned for the project.
